Day 3- Believing for Joy & Peace

We have entered a New Year and I invite you to join with me in determining to purposely set ourselves before God in hope of a closer walk with our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. We need conviction in this year. A conviction is a fixed belief, a deeply held set of certainties that lodges in the center of your heart and mind.

We need to believe anew that God so Loves the World and you and I are so Loved by God. Romans 8:38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[p] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We as Christians are not immune to any of the things humans face in this present world, but none of it can or will separate us from God’s love. The loss of hope around the world is a by-product of the growing rejection of and the loss of belief in God’s eternal love. Romans 15:13 is the antidote for this condition. I would appeal for us to write this scripture somewhere we will see it and say it out loud every morning.

Hear this and read it out, declare it over your life and your loved ones. Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let’s change the pronoun you to I and me and try it again:

Now may the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing, that I may abound in relentless hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We need to pray these words into our hearts, speak them so often they change our mindsets. In other words, let them become our personal and corporate convictions. When we grasp how much God loves us, we can get excited about what he has in store for us regardless of our present condition.

Romans 5:1-2 So now, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith in his promises, we can have real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 For because of our faith, he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be.

Let us set aside time to pray and fast before the Lord that we may be in His perfect will.
