Day 1- Looking Ahead

Twenty-one. Two thousand twenty-one. Twenty twenty-one. However you may phrase it, we are at the beginning of a new year and a new decade. Where do we go from here? There's a saying, "A new year, a new beginning". Another, "Don't look back". Yet many do. And when we do, for some, it's easy to say, and rightfully so, that 2020 has been one of the most difficult years to have experienced.

But with God, we look forward. "And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Let me repeat, "For when I am weak, then I am strong". We recognize our weakness, yet He is our strength as we draw closer to Him through our prayer, even our fasting and sacrifices. He is waiting to meet with us and to encourage us, and to pour His strength into our lives and spirits. It's not about "what was", but totally about "what will be" in and through Him. "For in Him we live and move and have our being". Acts 17:28 We look ahead in faith! We look ahead with expectancy! We look ahead DECLARING who HE is! And we look ahead with the hope that HE brings! He is the One who places a song in our heart. And His joy is our strength. Sometimes dark clouds may appear on the horizon, but remember the sun is shining behind those clouds ready to break through the darkness! Are you looking for a breakthrough this year? We have His promises. "Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For HE has done marvelous things; HIS right hand and HIS holy arm have gained HIM the victory." Psalm 98:1. He gives the victory. And we can declare, "But thanks be to God, who gives US the victory THROUGH our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 15:57

So, as we enter this new year, we look ahead with peace and assurance. Do not look back or lose hope. Think on good things. Pray, fast, and seek. Acknowledge who He is and what he has already done and will do. It's a new day, a new season, and He'll give a new song. "Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19

When all else fails, God is the constant in our lives and circumstances. As we enter this new year, "SING to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, BLESS His name; PROCLAIM the good news of His salvation from day to day. DECLARE His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples." Psalm 96:1-3
